The mission of the Production Engineering program is to provide high quality up-to-date education in the field of Mechatronics and prepare distinguished graduates who can compete in the local, regional, and international markets, absorb the fast-paced advances and new developments in the field, should be curious about how things are made and work. They have a desire to solve problems and a talent for understanding the operation of mechanical devices. Mechanical engineers conceive, plan, design and direct the production, distribution, and operation of a wide variety of devices, machines and systems, environmental control and materials processing, transportation, and handling. Design and production mechanical engineers analyze their design using the  principles  of  motion,  energy,  and  momentum  to  ensure  that  the  product functions safely, efficiently, reliably, and manufactured at a competitive cost with minimized environmental hazards.

The main objective of the " Production Engineering" program at the "Faculty of Engineering" in " Modern University for Technology and Information " are to equip the student with the proper scientific knowledge and develop his/her skills to:

PA1. Work with mechanical design and manufacturing systems.


PA2. Use of mathematics and physical and engineering sciences and systems

          analysis  tools  in  components  and  machines  and  produce  design  and

          manufacture.


PA3. Use different instruments appropriately and carry-out experimental design,

         automatic data acquisition, data analysis, data reduction and interpretation, and

         data presentation, both orally and in the written form.


PA4. Use computer graphics for design, communication, and visualization. Use

         and/or develop   computer   software,   necessary   for   the   design,

         manufacturing and management of industrial systems and projects.


PA5. Analyze  multi-disciplinary  mechanical,  electrical,  thermal  and  hydraulic

         systems.

PA6. Lead or supervise a group of designers or technicians and other work

         force.

GA1.  Implement basic theories to production processes including new

           technologies in manufacturing to select proper processes and processes

           parameters for specific products.


GA2. Apply analytic critical and systemic thinking to identify, diagnose and solve

          engineering problems with a wide range of complexity and variation.


GA3. Work in and lead a heterogeneous team of professionals from different

           engineering specialties and assume responsibility for own and team

           performance.


GA4.  Design systems, machines, tools, and products implementing proper

          standards and developing the necessary calculations, construction and

          working drawings


GA5.  Implement basics of industrial engineering to analyze, plan and design

           production systems.


GA6.  Select materials suitable for specific applications.


GA7. Use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for

         engineering practice.


GA8. Assume full responsibility for own learning and self-development, engage in

          lifelong learning and demonstrate the capacity to engage in post- graduate

          and research studies.


GA9. Communicate effectively using different modes, tools, and languages with

          Various audiences; to deal with academic/professional challenges in a

          critical and creative manner.


GA10. Demonstrate leadership qualities, business administration and  

            entrepreneurial skills.
