As the ideal
beauty standards and stereotypes are constantly changing, the Integrated
Marketing Communications Department students launched an initiative to
highlight the main concepts of true beauty through their purpose-driven graduation
project "You are beautiful as you are".
The project
focuses on facing the wide-spread obsession with plastic surgeries, as well as
deepening self-acceptance by asserting that true beauty is not about change, it
is about confidence and self-awareness.
The project's team organized an on-campus event, involving several
exceptional interactive activities, such as a an activity that included a
mirror that reflects positive messages, a variety of fun games, and a giveaways
activity, with the aim of spreading positive energy and boosting
self-confidence.
This initiative is not contradictory to beauty in its core; however
it calls for a more balanced self-change; rejecting the transformation of
beauty into an addiction that leads to a loss of self- worth.
The event was held as part of the Department's efforts to
practically qualify its students especially that the students application of
the various communicative tools reflects their competency to carry out actual
and effective awareness campaigns.
The project was conducted under the supervision of:
§ Ms. Marina Gerges, Assistant Lecturer at the Integrated Marketing Communications
Department, Faculty of Mass Communication, MTI University.
§ Mr. Saad Mohamed, Teaching Assistant at the Integrated Marketing Communications
Department, Faculty of Mass Communication, MTI University.
