The Fourth-Level Students, who are
registered on the Bachelor's Degree Programs (Pharm-D and Clinical Pharmacy) at
the Faculty of Pharmacy at MTI University organized an awareness campaign,
entitled "From Lab to Life: Liver Health Awareness" to promote
the awareness of liver diseases and emphasize the early examinations necessity.
This event was held as part of the requirements and activities of the Clinical
Biochemistry course.
The event took place in the Faculty's open
area and was open to the public in order to raise the awareness of the most common
liver diseases as well as laying emphasis on the importance of laboratory
examinations for early diagnosis and follow-up purposes.
The awareness campaign events marked the
following students' activities:
§
The students presented a simplified illustration about liver diseases,
including Viral Hepatitis, Fatty Liver Disease, and Liver Cirrhosis.
§
The students specified the most important liver function's medical tests
and analyses such as: ALT، AST، ALP، Bilirubin, and the like, which are particularly significant in the examination of the
health conditions of the patients' livers.
§
By the end of the events, the students shared several awareness flyers
which contain various scientific and informative instructions with the attendees.
This initiative highlights the major roles
and contributions of the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy in disseminating
the health-related culture among the community members, connecting both the
academic and practical sides of Community Service.
