In accordance with the state's vision and orientation regarding the
strengthening of the effective partnerships between the public and private sectors
along with upholding the accelerating progress in the field of Higher Education, a Joint Cooperation
Memorandum was signed between Ain Shams University (ASU) and Modern Group
Educational Organization; hosting and administrating the branches of both St.
Petersburg (SPBU) and Kazan (KFU) Russian Universities in Cairo. The Memorandum of Understanding's (MoU)
top-listed and substantial objectives are to enhance the quality of the
educational process, improve the scientific research tools, and vastly engage in
community service.
The MoU was signed and executed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President
of Ain Shams University and Dr. Waleid Nabil Deabes, Chairman of Modern
Group Educational Organization that incorporates Modern University for
Technology and Information (MTI), and the branches of the SPBU and KFU
Russian Universities in Cairo.
The official ceremonial signing event was held in the presence of Prof.
Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, Prof.
Ramy Maher, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Ali
Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ayman Shafei,
President of the SPBU and KFU Russian Universities
branches in Cairo, and Prof. Sherine Wageeh Abdelmalek, Vice President of the branches of the SPBU and KFU Russian Universities in Cairo.
It is worth mentioning that this MoU aims at the establishment of an innovative
holistic system serving the fields of higher education, scientific research,
knowledge dissemination, and community service with the objective of reinforcing
the integration between the public and private sectors, particularly on the
higher education level.
The MoU's framework includes a financial funding for the ASU, especially
for the Faculty of Medicine in order to improve and upgrade its Educational Hospitals,
while completing the procedures required for assigning Modern Group Educational
Organization as the official and main sponsor of Community Service at the university.
The MoU provides all Modern Group senior students, including the seniors
studying at the two branches of the Foreign Universities incorporated at the
Educational Organization and the seniors of the Faculty of Medicine at MTI
University access to several practical training opportunities at the ASU's
Educational Hospitals and certain laboratories of its Faculties.
This joint collaboration stresses the necessity to foster and develop
the student's research skills through their participation in several world
competitive research projects that are to be conducted between the branches of the
two Russian Universities in Cairo, the various ASU's research units, and the
Faculty of Medicine's Medical Research Center (MASRI).
It is one of the main objectives of this MoU to establish a fully
inclusive innovative matrix, involving the ASU's teaching staff members, particularly
the members whose expertise in the Medical, Humanitarian, AI, and Sciences
fields to work in cooperation and collegially with their counterparts from the
Russian Federal Universities with a view to teaching the curriculum and developing
the academic programs proposed by the branches of the two Russian Universities
in Cairo. This will be done in conformity with the criteria approved and
applied by the Russian Federal Institutions, which will deepen the academic
experiences exchange opportunities between the partners.
